Lazy Links Round-Up

6 Nov

First things first, the YALSA’s Young Adult Literature Symposium is happening RIGHT NOW. (Well, not literally at this moment, but throughout the weekend? Yes!) I’ve been tweeting about it and soon I’ll blog about it, too, so please stay tuned for updates. YALSA will even be liveblogging one of their sessions (about YA lit and sexuality) tomorrow at 2.30 PM BST.

Meanwhile, Teen Librarian provides guidelines for dealing with complaints about content of graphic novels and manga.

Aside: I attended a smart, interactive, and educational presentation on “Meet Them Where They Are and Open the Door: Urban Teens, Street Lit, and Reader’s Advisory” (click through for a summary of the event). As far as I know the UK doesn’t have a genre equivalent to Street Lit. What do you think?

More tomorrow. Until then, happy reading!
